July 8 2020

I really got derailed by COVID-19. Things just got crazy at our house. My husband is not working, my daughter is a teenager, and my son was experiencing, or is experiencing, some type of speech delay. I was working two jobs. Well three if you include homeschooling. It was just out of control for a few months here. But the bigger issue is that I cannot breathe at night. each night when I go to sleep my esophagus feels like it’s being smothered by my neck fat, and this is not an exaggeration, this is a description of a terrible feeling that prevents me from going to sleep at night. I toss and turn I elevate my head, ID elevate my head, I try anything and everything to make it so I can breathe, but I cannot. And then eventually I do fall asleep. So here I am starting from scratch again hoping praying needing this to be the one. My short-term goal is to lose 30 pounds by December. It’s just a six month range of weight that I feel is a conservative amount.

Preparing to Start My Own 30 Day Healthy Living Challenge:

Current Weight: 190 lbs.
Current Bicep: 15”
Current forearm: 11”
Current waist: 44”
Current thigh: 271/2”
Current Calf: 16 1/2”
Current neck: 16 1/2”
Current Attitude: Determined

I plan to eventually incorporate intermittent fasting with this 30 day challenge but not the first week. No dairy, no pasta, and no sugar, great, those things are just not good for my body. I had a baby about a year and a half ago. I weighed 210 lbs. by the 9th month. So I was 180 after having my son. Lost an additional 10 lbs. over the next year despite breastfeeding. I was not happy at 170 lbs. but at least things were moving in the right direction. Then some stressful life events happened and I was not following my intermittent fasting schedule and I am now up to 190 lbs. A setback but not a reason to give up.

I'm a runner and I really need to get this weight off my body so I can move and run efficiently. I also want to tie my shoes without suffocating myself. Seriously, I really really want to tie my shoes!

I'm just focused on the first week and incorporating yoga and weight training into my morning routines. I think these two activities will help my mind and running form.
